Hi Milena! Please tell us about yourself.
I am 20 years old, I currently work as a barista and a secretary.
As of now I don’t really have any hobbies. My hobby used to be gymnastics and now I am too old for that.
I do still love working out and being active. I’m just still figuring out what the best way for that in my life is now.
How long have you been training with us?
About 3 years total maybe? Counting bootcamp back in the old days and starting small group and MetCon in July 2018.
What are a few of your favorite exercises?
My favorite types of exercises are mostly lower body lifting because that’s where I am strongest and find it easiest to push myself.
I also love exercises that incorporate core strength and work my whole body. Single leg/arm exercises(deadlift, squat, lunge, etc.) are all ones I love!
How about a few of your favorite muscle groups to train?
My favorites are my lower body, legs and glutes, as well as my core. I like working these areas because i am already pretty strong in my lower body and core, and building muscle in those areas is more of a priority for me as far as how I want to look.
I definitely would like to get better at training my upper body consistently though.
What are some of your preferred ways to relax and recover?
If I am sore from a workout I like to do a light workout to engage all of the muscles that are sore, stretch, and I drink a lot of water.
Who or what inspires you?
It’s kind of an interesting thing being out of gymnastics because all the people who were my inspiration before are gymnasts, but now I can’t compare myself to them since I’m not doing gymnastics anymore.
My inspiration now are some of the fitness accounts I follow who have the physical look I’d like to achieve and the healthy lifestyle I would like to live.
What is your ideal travel destination, and why?
If I could fly anywhere I would choose Greece first. I was always interested in Ancient Greek mythology and also it’s just such a beautiful place.
I would also love to visit Ireland one day to see family history things.
I know you enjoy concerts. What’s the best one you’ve been to?
My favorite concert so far was one that we went to last minute in Denver it was a super small venue but one of my favorite artists; Marc e Bassy and KYLE.
What advice would you give someone who wants to get in shape but may not know where to start?
Depends on what their fitness goal is. I’d probably advise them to not put all their work into cardio, and to push themselves on weight- not necessarily do a million reps with light weights.
Also, eating healthy is just as important as working out to get in shape!
What goals are you most excited about pursuing in the next 6 months?
I really would love to workout more. Now that I have more of a set schedule I could workout 4 or 5 times a week on my own time at a gym or at home. I need to get a gym membership or buy myself a few weights for my house though. And then actually commit to waking up in the morning and working out before work.
I have been doing pretty good at eating healthy since I cook my own food most of the time at home now, I would like to try to use whatever app to track my diet so that when I am working out more I am eating enough protein.
